Telling Stories

The song I chose to illustrate was 'The Moon's a Harsh Mistress' by Glen Campbell.
However before making this decision I also came up with a potential idea for the song 'Barricade' by Stars. I quickly settled on my idea for the former, re-interpreting the lyrics as a drama between The Moon, The Sky and The Sun.

I expanded around these initial ideas, creating small thumbnails in colour for each page.

I created larger images of the characters, including their outfits.

I wanted the character's skin to resemble each thing they represent, working from these images of the moon and the sun specifically. 

I then created more thumbnails, this time more refined and at a larger scale.

Once I had completed ideas for the six pages inside the book, I then began thumbnailing the cover and back of the book.

I ended up selecting these two
